Terms & Conditions of Hire

Commencement

1) The normal Hire Period is for 3 days, usually Friday to Monday unless otherwise agreed between the Hirer and Smarty Pants.

Payment

2) Costume Hire fees and deposit must be paid before the costumes leave Smarty Pants’ Premises.

3) All payments by cash only.

Deposit

4) A 100% returnable deposit is required for all hired costumes. This deposit is to be paid in full at the time of hiring. The amount of the deposit required will be dependent upon the selected costume(s). This will be the same amount as the hired costume(s).

5) The deposit will be held by Smarty Pants until the entire costume(s) has been returned to Smarty Pants in a good condition and complete. The deposit will then be returned to the hirer.

6) Upon return of the costume(s), Smarty Pants will check the costume(s). Smarty Pants shall be entitled to deduct from the deposit, any amounts due to them from the Hirer as a result of loss or damage to the costume(s) and/or costumes(s) being returned after the agreed return date.

Covenants of the Hirer

7) The Hirer agrees with Smarty Pants as follows:

a) to take proper care of the costumes and to take responsibility for all loss and damage to the costumes howsoever caused during the period of hire.
b) to be responsible for the delivery of the costumes from and to Smarty Pant’s premises unless otherwise agreed.
c) not to deliberately damage the costumes or permit them to be deliberately damaged in any way.
d) not to make any amendments, modifications or additions to the costumes or alter them in any way.
e) to permit Smarty Pants and any person duly authorised by Smarty Pants at all reasonable times to inspect the costumes.
f) to notify Smarty Pants of any loss, or damage to the costumes and to pay Smarty Pants the full cost of the replacement or repair of the costumes within the agreed hire period.

General

8) All accessories that are listed as part of the hired costume(s) will be subject to the above conditions.

9) All other accessories purchased by the hirer with the costume(s) are deemed, upon full payment for same, to be the hirers own.

10) Hire wigs must be handled with care. Please do not use any brushes or hair products on them.

COSTUMES REMAIN THE PROPERTY OF SMARTY PANTS AT ALL TIMES
